Neglected March - missing good fishing!
In the old days most of the rivers in Slovenia opened for the fly fishing with April or even later. And that is still deeply anchored in the mentality of mass.. But more and more fishing clubs start to open their rivers with March! And this month is becoming better recognized by anglers as well! Due to cold nights, rivers do not sustain snow melt yet and fish are pretty active already - giving a good chance also for some dry fly fishing. Mostly during the central day hours, true - but enough to spend some good moments out there. Here few highlights of March and some of better fly patterns that were in use!
NOTE that this year Sava Bohinjka Instutute area (middle part) opens with March 30th - Saturday!
